   WILMA RUDOLPH


Wilma Glodean Rudolph was born on 1940, June 23rd in Saint Bethlehem, Tennessee. She became a world record holding Olympic champion. Wilma Rudolph was the first woman to win 3 gold metals. She became a role model for black and female athletes and her Olympic successes helped elevate women's track and field in the United States. for a long time she had problems walking and soon she figured out she had brain and throat cancer but fought it off for a long time.She died a sudden death of brain cancer and throat cancer in 1994, But still a role model for black woman athletes around world.
